Amanda Skelton APRN-CNP, FNP-BC, ANVP-BC, CNIC-BC
Amanda Skelton brings 18 years of neurology experience to her patients. She has worked in a variety of settings, including acute inpatient care, long-term post-acute care, acute inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient clinics, and remote consultations. Amanda specializes in conditions such as stroke, hemorrhages, traumatic brain injuries, aneurysms, seizures, migraines, and dementia. She is skilled at managing these diagnoses and their secondary complications.
Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She then completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University and is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC). To deepen her expertise, Amanda completed a vascular fellowship through ANVC NET-SMART (Neurovascular Education and Training in Stroke Management and Acute Reperfusion Therapies) and holds two additional board certifications: Vascular Neurology (ANVP-BC) and NeuroIntervention (CNIC-BC).
Throughout her career, Amanda has witnessed the challenges faced by patients and providers in our traditional, insurance-based healthcare system. She understands how time constraints and lack of empathy can hinder comprehensive care. Her own medical journey taught her firsthand about medical gaslighting and the importance of compassionate listening. These experiences inspired her to create Premier Neurology of Texas—a practice dedicated to proactive, patient-focused care.
Amanda chose the concierge model to address gaps she saw in healthcare. Unlike traditional care, which often limits access and communication, the concierge approach offers direct contact with Amanda, timely appointments, and personalized attention. This model helps patients receive early intervention, proactive health management, and comprehensive support—benefits that are often missing in standard insurance-driven practices.
Amanda is known for her empathy, honesty, and commitment to patient education. She believes in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. Her compassionate care is best expressed in the words of a grateful patient: “Amanda took the time to listen and truly understand what I was going through. She made me feel heard and cared for, every step of the way.” This dedication is at the heart of Premier Neurology of Texas.
She is married, has two children and two dogs, and is a local resident of Prosper, Texas. Much of her free time is spent driving her kids to their sporting events and enthusiastically cheering them on at gymnastics meets, softball games, and cheer competitions. Whenever she gets a rare moment to herself, she loves traveling—especially to Colorado, where some of her fondest memories are watching her children master the slopes while the family takes in the peaceful mountain scenery together. She also enjoys working out, playing pickleball with friends, baking creative treats—her signature whoopie pies are always a hit—and decorating homes to show off her creative style.
